What does it mean to stand with our neighbors when fear and division threaten to pull a community apart? Not in my Town's new documentary, Minnesota Neighbors (2026, 60 min.), offers a powerful answer, telling the story of Minnesotans from different backgrounds who came together to support their immigrant neighbors and demonstrate the power of ordinary people to respond to hate with courage, compassion, and community. That spirit of coming together is at the heart of United Against Hate Week (October 18–24), a movement that calls on people to take action against hate and build communities where everyone can belong. As we approach the 2026 election, the film also invites us to consider the many ways we can participate in shaping our communities and our democracy. Voting is one of those fundamental ways to make our voices heard and to affirm our commitment to the kind of community we want to build together.

This event is presented in partnership with AAPI Equity Alliance and LA vs Hate, a program of the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission.
